Tony was born on the 21st of July 1957 in Southport. After dropping out of school, he decided to become a market trader, buying different things each week from the wholesaler and selling them in London. He had never been interested in writing, didn't really read books and wasn't thinking about a career change.
So how did a 32-year-old scouse trader go from the markets to the Eastenders writing room and creating his own hit shows?
